Let's talk wiper blades

As we move into fall, let's talk about wiper blades...

When the rubber starts to fail they get annoyingly noisy.

Visibility is also affected. All the streaks make it even more challenging for drivers to see in the dark, fog, rain and snow.

You have probably experienced this.

Are your technicians checking the wiper blades of each vehicle they are working on?

Next, are the service advisors letting the customers know and offering to replace them?

There are lots of reasons why technicians and advisors shy away from recommending them. Maybe they used to, but heard a couple no's and got discouraged.

The truth is, if we don't offer to replace the client's wiper blades when they need to, we run the risk of them having them replaced else wear and finding a new place for their automotive maintenance.

If we don't check the wiper blades and offer to replace them when it's time, are we really taking good care of their vehicle?

What about the financial benefit to the shop? Let's say we sell the average set of wiper blades for $50 and 25% of cars coming in daily need wiper blades. You do the math.
